I like that you don't see the water dripping out the sides when you water. It all goes south :)

I got a 100gallon that came with the build a soil to mix it in. I have a large oak stump ground down right in the middle of my sunny garden space. That bitch is going to be perfect for that, and will probably have a bunch of my old soil filling it for tomatoes.
i have never used a fabric pot only had access to old nersery plastic 7 gal.,so you can guess what my setup looks like useing everyone else cast offs

This is my only hobby - it has a budget LOL. I startedwith the cloth pots because it was supposed to help me stop killing plants 😁 Went to nursery pots and still have stacks to fall back on.

The lined pots really arent that expensive if you can get a few grows out of it. Not sure the long term durability of the plastic(or whatever) lining, but doing the living soil where you don't dump it every time should extend that a bit. But it stops about 2-3" from the bottom, so you can see when the bottom gets water.

Since I'm not re-using the old soil inside I'm gonna grow these pots out - after harvest just to see what all these morph into. it's 12-14 different seeds in the cover crop. I have been doing some lawn mowing in the tent and will probably do more. Some of the seeds are peas and the damn things have tendrils like peas do... grabbing the plants on the way up

Duke Diamond & Skunk VA Breeding, Growing, & Next Level Genetics Thanks to Seeds Here Now! PART 2 - YouTube

I put links instead of age-restriction bullshit. I was rather shocked/impressed today. After seeing the dude above (Duke Diamond) in several videos and hearing about him getting kicked out of the house at 15, something about following the dead around, going to jail after getting set up, etc. plus the fact that he was in with all these other big name growers trading cuts, breeding and all that. Cool stuff for this business, excellent story-teller, legend status stuff.

I forget what podcast I was listening to but it turns out he was kicked out at fifteen AFTER GRADUATING HIGH SCHOOL EARLY  Like Mr. Soul, he is also a nuclear engineer, and at one point worked at the same big corporation as Mr. Soul... Then Brothers Grimm...

Mind blown

I take pics to check trichs. I can't ever tell with the loupe. Usually if they are a little blurry it's fine for telling clear/white/amber but occasionally one (or a part of one) is in great focus. This is the auto ChemD
IMG_5734.JPG
zoomed in, you have the newer growth up top, mix of clear and getting cloudy
IMG_5734 (4).JPG
then on the lower bud leaves you have milky, with some clear, some amber, and some that have already died and broken off
IMG_5734 (2).JPG
But if you dig deep you get a better representation and this is where I look for just one or two amber - not there yet.

Everything got coconut water with some good old lactic acid bacteria - just like mom used to make 😋 :ROFLMAO: They also got individual attention pruning some lower leaves, mowing the lawn, and added worms to my new up-pots and rearranged everything. I put the big pot up front so it's easier to water well. Did some leaf tucking and may prune a few to get light to all the tops.
IMG_5720.JPG
I put the ones up front that will need another top dressing (not build-a-soil) and will be harvested soonest. And the plastic pots are easy to set out of the way during watering. IMG_5740.JPG
The Freak is NOT on a leash! I repeat, the freak is NOT on a leash! - that is all :ROFLMAO:

Other notes:
Stem rub on the PTK is straight pine on one, and an almost anesthetic/astringent pine on the other. Real sharp on the nose. I can only do two stem rubs a night - left and right hand :ROFLMAO:

I went out after it rained yesterday and again this morning and found a few hundred worms. Most were the little ones that throw epileptic fits when exposed to light. They gather in herds and I'm pretty sure they are basic red wigglers. They also like fresh grass clippings after they start to mold on the bottom.

Then I have some that are still skinny but longer and slither like snakes instead of bouncing, lightning fast and I think they are blue wigglers. They have a dark vein that gives them a blue tint. About 10% are regular wal-mart night-crawlers that are fat and slow, but mostly regular size - shorter than the blue ones but they outweigh the two-to-one. But about a dozen or so were like small snakes. The deep diggers that come out when it gets soaked. One was as fat as a sharpie, and almost a foot long stretched out and 'running' :) I put that one in the big Freakshow, because why not? 😁

I wish I got a pic, but I have my first reptile in the tent. I was hunting worms and the process to catch the wiggly ones is to just grab a handful of dirt with them and toss it in a bucket - sort em out later so I don't bring in ants or pill-bugs or stuff. I saw movement and grabbed, and came up with a baby skink maybe 1.5" long. I know they eat bugs, and if it did get loose the cat would get it. But it got me to thinking about looking for more, or other live junk to put in there. It looked like this mainly but darker. If you see it an any pics I post point it out! 🤪 I put it in the big pot with the 2 PTK, but they are mobile. I think it'll stay in the tent though, plenty of hiding spots.

ChemD auto by Ethos. Going dark tonight. Probably 60-70% of the trichs are cloudy
IMG_5744.JPG
but a lot of the new pistils have new beans attached. I heard the Chems are prone to selfing late and I'm sure it being an auto and shifting light cycles didn't help. But it is stinky and I have a real ChemD in flower right now.

The PTK (front left) is starting to brown at 4.5 weeks. Chemdog (center) is getting tall. All of the shoots I kept are a nice level canopy just below those fat fan leaves. Definitely gonna need support. Real lanky.
IMG_5767.JPG
The Freakshow doesn't pic well in the tent. The pistils are so pure white they reflect bad.
IMG_5752.JPG
And this is a variety but they all seem to be playing well. Only one (VinSanto) is going sideways more than up and is shorter. But not enough to matter.

Got bored. I didn't like not being able to lift the little 5g pots. With the pigger pots I can see that being a safety factor, but plants stretching after flip can drink a pot dry pretty quick. Combine my need to get personal with each plant, and losing a few inches of floor space with that washing machine tray, I ditched the tray and shelving and stuff is back on the floor.
IMG_5776.JPG
Figured I'd also point out some of the ghetto-fabulous Macguyvers I did to make a closet work. Above, the power cord for the light goes through the wall to the laundry room on a separate circuit from the bedroom. The intake vent is 'periscoped' into the bedroom. It is cut about 2' high from the floor, then the intake in the room is at the baseboard. Some blue washable air filter jammed in the hole to snag some dust. I have the carpet stripped out, and pond liner on the floor.

I needed a pole to mount the fan on or I would lose floorspace to a tower fan. The wire shelves were great because I could extend one of the legs up and clip the fan to that. But they didn't reach the ceiling. No shelf - no pole. By using the center part of a crutch and a wooden peg to get it close to the ceiling I was able to use the foot of the shelf to tighten it up. Pipe across the ceiling for the light, and a piece of paracord with a tightener (like tent vents) to hang the wires out of the way and be able to adjust it with the light height :) Extra boards on the inside of the door frame, weather stripping and foil tape for pure darkness. This was the first grow space and is pretty dialed in.

Cool pic from between the light bars.

I have a few areas outside that I toss coffee grounds, food scraps and lawn clippings instead of an actual compost pile. Unless the weather is shit I have been doing the wake-n-bake and coffee while turning one area with a little 3-prong digger. Usually it's about 15-20 minures and a stack like this, but occasionally I'll get really high and spend more time. Especially if it rained the niight before. 12" tray.

Alrightythen... I figured if one place was gonna be crowded it should be a bigger space. A little pruning and I could finish these in here. 4 is better, including having pot-space to veg them longer.
IMG_5793.JPG
Moved the 007UP in here in the center. The CLHP flower clone is gonna go back in the other tent as soon as something in there harvests.
IMG_5794.JPG
This tent will be giving up the floorspace in a week.

The FloRida/TK is getting done, but putting out new tops in the center of the buds. Brown around the edge, white on the tops
IMG_5788.JPG
The HSC is about a week behind. She has golfballs instead of marbles.

GSC surprised me. I had her out checking everything and pruning some dead leaves off the bottom, and the tops are the only thing ot mostly milky, probably from the new growth. Lowers had just enough amber to call it. IMG_5829.JPG
Heavy girl. 378g wet or about 3oz dry.
IMG_5837.JPG
And the ChemD auto got the axe too. It was 235g wet, so between 1.5-2 ounces. The "Duke Diamond" trim is ugly as hell, but I want to see if those stems act like indicators of when it's dry. It's supposed to slow the dry.
