StonedAge's Tiny DIY Tester Tent

Hey everyone, so I'm trying something new this round. I helped a friend build a small box for clones and germinating seeds, and ended up w 8 extra 2ft T5 LEDs. 10 w each and fairly good spectrum.

I'm setting them up in a 1.5ft x 2.5 ft x 3ft tent, and running new seed pops in there. Small 6in clones in 6in pots of 80/20 Coco/Perlite. My goal is to find the keepers, to go into the larger flower area, while limiting the amount of less than great flower. Nothing worse then spending 4 months vegging and flowering some 6footers that you don't even enjoy at the end. I expect about 7-14g per plant which is enough to judge the smoke and decide to keep or cull.

So this initial run I've got 7 Chem 91 S1s from CSI Humboldt, and 1 of his MudDog Freebies (Chem 3 x Chem91). These cuts have been on the back burner for a while as other things got flowered, but time to give em a go👍

These were transplanted and moved to the tent 7 days ago, and already showing decent growth. They are getting flipped tonite, so I will post more as they get further along

EDIT: I'll have pics up in a few minutes👍

Looking forward to seeing your eighty watt grow cube.
Thanks, it should be an interesting experiment at least. With the lights about 10in away I can get a fairly even 600 PAR.

Im not expecting giant yields, just tired of growing larger plants that end up not being keepers.

So here is my lil Micro tent a week ago, the day I transplanted clones.

And here it is yesterday after a week of Veg, before I flipped to 12/12

The MudDog has always been a bit of a runt which is why it never got flowered until now. I keep clones of everything im running in here so I can have a cut ready of anything I decide to keep for a bigger run, and get rid of all the others.

To keep this thread a bit more interesting until there is more to show, here are some flowers finishing up in my main area. Think these were at 52 Days.

Here's my Rubber Cement cut (Found in a bag off GG4 my buddy grew, it is likely GG4 x Motorbreath 15)

And heres what Ive dubbed Ice Cream Fake, an Ice Cream Cake bagseed pop, that has stayed for a few runs only for her potency. Shes a bell-ringer for sure.

Ill update more as the 91 S1s develop

If you make sure your chem 91 s1 and mud dog plants have a daily light integral of twenty mol you should have a good representation of the flowers quality and potency. If I did the math correct your plants are getting approximately twenty-six mol DLI. Best of luck.

Yeah, I know I won't hit the 40-50 DLI that's usually optimal, but I haven't run the DLI numbers either. Im gonna try dropping the lights to 8 or even 6in, and if I can hit 700ish ppfd I should be able to get decent expressions.

Its just an experiment to see what I can do with these T5s I had laying around, and if it works well enough will stick around👍

Hey everyone, I havent updated since I started this thread, but Im rounding the corner on this run of Chem91 S1s and I gotta say the Tiny Tent is performing above and beyond what I expected. I also realized around week 3 that I had only wired up 7 of the 8 T5 LEDs, so these ladies were all run under 70w, in 5in pots of Coco. I ran GH trio since I still had some lying around as my other flower areas are switched over to my organic soil mix. I overfed these a bit while trying to dial in my new environment. I was feeding about 1.8 EC but should have topped out at 1.5 in retrospect, so please ignore the burnt tips lol

As for the plants, I couldnt be happier! They all grew quite uniform, with most showing their differences in bud structure. 3 of the 7 look VERY much like mama Chemdog. 1 ended up being a bit of a runt that never wanted to keep up, 1 that is floppy and a super heavy yeilder, that stacks swollen calyxes that visually remind me of TK, but the nose is all Chem. Another has more conical, spear shaped buds and has the most intense fuel/diesel stank to it. The ladies handled the overfeeding like champs, and thankfully not a nanner or ball to be seen, and I kept a very close eye.

These are all at 64 days, and been on the flush for 4 days. Most started that trademark Chem leaf cannabilization at around 50 days, but a few, #6 in particular, that have stayed green and actually faded gracefully👍
