Can’t say enough good about DBB and Welchie in my tent! BGDD is chubby but small she just didn’t have stretch. And Twinkle is definitely next on my list!

I decided to try this method with some granddaddy purple seeds yesterday. I put the seeds in the 1:1 mixture of 3% hydrogen peroxide and water and, less than 24 hours later, I decided to check on them, and all of them are out of the seed shell but they are all white. Do these still have a chance?

When I use the method posted which is from New420Guy's themselves, which was from older packs they used to include that slip. Not anymore though...saving money maybe? Bad method maybe? I never used the paper towel like that...only if they sank I did. Normally 24-48 hours the seed would be opened while still floating. I would try to save them to see if they grow. Do you have rock wool or plugs?

That's not a paper towel, I poured the water out on top of a 25 micron screen so I wouldn't damage them trying to pick them out of the water with tweezers. Yeah, I put them into some root riot plugs for now, I'm just concerned about the cotyledons being as white as the taproots.

They should be fine then. Just young, really young. They will start to turn color in a couple days. I have had to open seeds and remove membranes to get them to open which also had the white color to them. I wouldn't worry.

I went into full panic mode when I saw the white cotyledons and thought maybe I used too much H2O2 and didn't even think they were white when they are that young. How crazy is it that they popped out of their shells in less than 24 hours? I've seen plenty of taproots after that little amount of time, but never completely out of the shells.

All good my friend. No need to apologize, this isn't RIU. :LOL: ;) I have read that this method is also really great for " older seeds " that have been stored for decades. Something with the H2O2 and the shells...That's also why I posted it in this thread and normally all my threads that I journal in. I used to have a hell of a time germinating seeds. Once I started using this way....my success skyrocketed.
