got 2 2x2s going started a couple of days ago. one has dinachem s1, dinachem x blue kush, dinachem x purple afghan kush and blue kush x nl s1 #2. the other has 5 dinachem s1s just poking out of soil today.

the 1st tent has vegged plants for a couple of weeks in small pots and got transplanted 2 days ago and they started growing and coming to their own today. looking happier than ever. the pots are filled with 50% coco, 25% old reused peat based mix, %25 percent hydrotons because i just had those around the house :) this soil is fortified with ewc, manure, bat guano, neem meal and basalt.

the other tent has 5 pots filled with mostly coco + reused peat based mix from my prior grow. these will be fed by 2 biotabs tabs per each pot. gonna do only water with both tents and test how well a coco heavy organic living soil performs for me.

not much has changed i stripped the old damaged leaves now waiting on the new growth, they’re showing sex and going asymmetrical nodes so soon they’ll flower. i don’t know if theyre gonna fill the space but we’ll see. they look healthy and thats whats important to me.

changed the layout of the seedlings (geometry is fun) and they are all ready to veg full throttle and flower in a week i hope :)

so its been a week already, girls are flowering in the mixed tent and the seed tent is looking healthy and happy for now :)
i was thinking of flipping them after their first week but now i want to give them a week more. they are on 10/2 schedule atm looking fine.

blue kush x nl flowered real fast that was a tiny bummer means i’ll have a pretty uneven canopy but that was to be expected with a multi strain grow with the strains i chucked haha

Cool. They look like they have grown quite a bit under the 10/2. Do you grow the basil and sage for food or pest deterrants?
i like making pizzas thats where the basil goes and sage is sage i like the smell haha

kidding and pizzas aside i’m thinking of doing 4 20 gallon-ish plastic pots in my 4x4 after this run is over. gonna do 2 or 3 strains at one time in huge pots and basil is a good companion plant afaik, sage has a tricky root system, a little bit invasive and woody ime but if i can find a way i’m gonna incorporate the sages into the mix too.

got 4 sages in the same pot and they’re screaming to be transplanted but gonna wait for a couple of weeks :D

did a light defol, its like day and night there right hahah. just took a couple of leaves off from each. they’re in full flower mode now still going plain distilled water. raised the light a bit to 30-35cm.

dinachem s1 seedlings are coming along nicely too. i was keeping the light at 60cm at 40%, i was treating these like the cob setup i have in the 2x2 realized these were not cobs lowered them to about 35ish cm a couple of days ago. i’m giving plain water to these ones too. gonna flip them friday so 2 week after germination.

flipped the dinachem s1s today. one of them growing kinda funny, freaky but i’m gonna keep it going anyway.

the other 2x2 is going fine for now. i noticed a tiny bit of yellowing on the tips of the top leaves and some blotches between veins. going straight water still, raised the lights a bit, i’m guessing too much amendments is the culprit but we’ll see.

the light is sitting at 30cm from dinachem and 50cm from the lowest blue kush x nl s1 #2. gonna lower it down a bit in the coming days.

also took off a couple more fan leaves to increase air flow.

update time!

so basically may 6th is the start of flowering so 2 weeks and by the looks of it they are really at 2 weekish. the tent with the crosses i mean. i’m getting a grape/chem mix type of smell from the dinachem x pak and again a very fruity smell from blue kush x nl s1 #2.

the strange thing about this particular nl chemotype (nl s1 #2) was that it had literally no smell at all. frost was there, sticky as hell but no terpenes whatsoever. high was good too. thought it may be a good stealth stash material but then didnt clone after the second run because i really like being able to smell my stuff haha. it was special tho. so anyway it seems the progeny doesnt carry that trait very well because i’m getting a fruit cocktail type of smell on this.

everyone is also frosting up real nice, dinachem s1 hasnt really started smelling yet. it has some trichome development in the sugar leaves region but not overly pungent at this moment. i also see the typical claws in the leaves, some say genetic trait some say tmw and shit but i’ve never seen it on any other plant and usually the ones that exhibits this trait turn out to be fire but hey i’m not a biologist or a virologist so what the hell do i know :)

as for bluechem (blue kush x dinachem), its getting there, because i’ve grown a couple of bluechem seeds before, i know that whatever it produces its gonna be a potency bomb thats gonna give me the shivers. this one in particular looks like a little on the indica side so i hope the high doesnt turn out to be too narcotic for my taste. also experienced some tip burn and with the dinachem too. very minor. didnt bother doing anything, just riding it out. still straight water from start to hopefully finish.

7DA87973-0B93-4CF9-ADC6-C54B77D9FC71.jpeg2CC5061A-DD72-4E24-A028-A2C5AE4A2CF5.jpeg5C3B72D9-C989-43AB-995E-9D771EA22B6F.jpeg

the dinachem tent is also going alright. i defoliated the shit out of them because i was having trouble with watering. the leaves were resting on the edges of the pots so could easily get the bottle down there so started plucking the lower leaves then went one node higher and before i knew i was too late i couldnt help myself and now they’re all gonna die hahahha

yeah they’ll be fine but this explains why i should have pulled the top leaves instead of the bottom ones but didn’t :)

found them like this

probably gonna pull the upper leaves in a couple of days when side branches fill the canopy a little

this is the 2x2 i run my crosses in. in hindsight i should have gone with something taller but it gets the job done and can’t complain. they actually stretched a little bit more than i was expecting except fot the blue kush x nl s1 #2, that stayed shorter than i expected and dinachem exceeded my expectations.

well anyway they’re going alright and thats whats important. next time i should use less fertilizers when mixing the soil tho. i’m seeing tiny bit of tip burn on each one. nothing serious at all. the worst is the blue kush and even that is not much but i’d rather keep it a little hungry instead of keeping them overfed.

isnt this nice? i think it is, lights with different kelvin degrees running side by side i wonder how much thats gonna effect the growth and in which way? i was very happy with my cree cxb1830s with 90 cri vivid spectrum. those were the best that were available to me and i took a chance on them and they grew kilos of stuff over the years in my 4x4 now they’re gonna do the same in my 2x2 on a different fixture altogether. i’m happy with the results. i’m already seeing fattening buds with nice frost forming. its especially visible on the dinachem x purple afghan kush cross.

so week 3 i guess

things are going fine i’m actually setting up my 4x4 for the new grow. there is a shit ton of stuff to do and once done i’ll post that up too. i’ve spent a couple of hours today and in about a week or so i’m gonna finish it hopefully.

as for the plants, i’m seeing the tip burn still. its progressing on the bluechem but pretty steady on the other ones. for bluechem i’m pretty sure its rich soil that causes it. because i also have clawing tips on it. for dinachem i think its potassium def because i see the lowers getting burn on their serrations as well. its strange i though coco contributed a nice amount of K to the plants. does K washes away when coco is buffered? anyway just for dinachem i gave a small dose of seaweed extract which is like 0-0-4 and a tiny bit of fulvic acid.

the smells are very pronounced on all of them except the dinachem. i dont know why but it just doesnt smell. though to be fair just yesterday i rubbed my fingers on the sugar leaves and got a whiff of fruit. it wasnt there a couple of days ago so i guess as it develops the smell could develop further. really hoping to get a gas-chem smell with the fruit on this one.

i’ve been doing some photoperiod manipulation for this 2x2 for the last 3 days, running 24/12 to get in a couple more days of veg before it transitions. i’m seeing that they’re showing sex at this point and from tomorrow on it’ll be strict 12/12. also added the little neglected dinachem x peyote cookies which is pregnant with destroyer pollen so gonna keep it going until the seeds ripen i’m not after any smoke stash on this one, just seeds.

also wanna say some stuff about biotabs, i was planning on going only water with 2 of the tabs buried in each pot but gave spirulina yesterday as i saw them getting lighter in color on the new growth. so i might need to feed during this grow possibly.

week 4 probably

gave them all some seaweed for some potassium boost yesterday.
FA272086-DF8D-42EF-9C1C-12593CE3A8C9.jpegBEDD843C-D6A5-4D6D-BDE0-1697C969EE33.jpeg8B33CD36-CDCF-474F-AE1D-D5497A48B728.jpeg

so the first 2x2 is ripening/fattening everyday. the smell on the dinachem is getting a little more gassy but not at where i want it to be atm. still i’m very happy with this pheno, the smell will improve in the coming weeks i’m sure but the flower morphology resembles the original mother and i really liked that one. just needs to be more smelly.

dinachem x purple afghan kush cross is weeks ahead of the others, its definitely gonna be a fast finisher. frosty as well. nice plant with a very robust fruit smell. after harvest i’ll report on the smells of each but i’m getting somewhat of a pineapple smell right now.
99421FA7-4A83-45D5-8EB9-02BE61EA214D.jpeg

bluechem is a little N toxic and showing K def as well. i think the soil was a little hot for it. i’ll have to correct that next run. it still has more many weeks to go at least 4 i guess.
76592C36-1A96-4485-89C1-D2979B49CABA.jpeg

blue kush x nl s1 #2 cross is very far away from the light so not waiting whooping yields on that one may be about 30gr.. also i’d have guessed this one would be the fastest finisher because it has NL in the lineage which is the fastest finisher i had but no that honor all belongs to dinachem x purple afghan kush

………………..
the dinachem 2x2 is going ok atm i culled the freak it was getting crowded and its a good thing i did because there is no way this tent could fit in another plant. also somehow i find these plants grow like a shrub rather than a xmas tree. the apical dominance does not apply to these gals i guess. they act like i topped them or something but i havent. i wonder whats the reason for that. is it light spectrum related? or the light defol i keep doing on the main cola i dont know.

either case i’m plucking a couple of leaves each day because its crowded af in there right now. also i havent been seeing a good transition to flowering yet so i checked my timer and it was 13 on 11 off. changed it to 12/12. so this tent has been getting crazy light schedules all this run and i guess that kinda applies as stress testing :)

i’ve never had balls on dinachem so either case its fine. they are 12/12 now so next week i should see clusters and i’m impressed by the growth i just hope the stretch helps them with some internodal spacing but the canopy is good and manageable and much more uniform then the other 2x2.

gave them a little spirulina today just to provide a little more energy for the flowering in the coming days. i think they’ll enjoy that. i just love the color of this stuff :)
