Fruit and vegetable gardens 2024

Have you tested the ph of your soil around the blueberry bush? They like it a bit more acidic for the stuff you planted around it.
I am letting that patch go feral. I did the same with a few raspberry plants sink or swim. I have old growth forest so I'm trusting the mycelial network to do it - or not. I may top dress it with something if it starts blooming.

What I actually love is the ground cherries. Early fall I had two come up volunteer in pepper pots, and I kept eating the berries after the pepper plant was chopped down. All they need is a little raised row or to be on a hill so the ripe ones are easy to get when they drop. If something I love volunteer grows I'll encourage that.

Random spots around the house I can get rosemary off a huge bush, catnip, basil, lemon balm, spearmint, sage, English lavender, and probably a few others that I'll never have to plant again. I bought 4 different varieties of ground cherries and if I have them coming up wild all over the place that would be fantastic - you just have to plant enough that you miss berries or birds get some.
