Anyone willing to talk about growing mushrooms?

So using hydrated lime does work to keep contaminants at bay. But I don't think the enigma liked it because it formed around the outer ring. It was most likely due to overlay though. Either way I still have that tray in my fruiting chamber and no visible contamination yet.

I started growing them last year and was surprised how easy it was with a basic setup—just a tub, good airflow, and patience. I went this route because I wanted more control over what I eat and to make sure I'm using all natural food without weird additives or chemicals. If you’re really into knowing what’s going into your body, this is a fun way to do it.

Figure might as well start a thread dedicated to mushroom growing.. Never done it this way, I always picked from a field, then on the way out picked up a few cow patties, put them in a cooler for transpor, then sat them on my small lawn. I lived in a tropical area at the time. Every morning maybe 2 or 3 days after rain I would have fresh ones. I would microwave then in a glass container until there were pretty much burnt, let the container cool down, then scrape the container with a razor. A teaspoon would put me in th spirit world for 12 hours
