Fingers crossed mang. You can use the tent to dry. There is risk involved though. The mites will climb to the highest point on the drying bud so they can send off their little web to the next plant. You can watch the tips, you'll see the little fuckers marching off. Cut the tips off or kill them as you see them. It's doable depending how much you're harvesting. If it is mites then definitely sanitize your grow space when you're done. Female mites can hibernate for over a year and strike again when the conditions are right for them (e.g. warm with a host). They stick to everything.

How big was the spot cause it looks to be no bigger than a pencil eraser?

If it is mites what's the chances you found them soon enough that maybe, with getting rid of the whole plant, they didn't have a chance to spread anywhere else?

But if its a fungus will it come back?

I guess only time will tell at this point. I hope the best for you/your plants and will be watching along.

Last couple weeks from chop is when they strike the hardest. Just keep watching and if you see a couple more webs pluck them off and throw away somewhere outside of the space. If you start getting crazy web coverage then cut your losses and chop. Not exaggerating when I say that they literally stick to everything then show up at the worst time. Sneaky evil fuckers 👿

cheers for the quick response guys.. @spyralout I do have some 4x4 furniture boxes I could dry in, but I'm thinking if it's mites, does the location matter as the majority would already be on the plant? Didn't know to watch the tips and cut, cheers for the heads up mate 👍
As far as sanitize, I'm thinking that I burn the whole area to the ground.. 60 litres of diesel should do it 🤣
@Streetpro09 the spot in the Photo is pretty much the size of the tip of ya pinkie finger maybe.. there was a spot probably double that size further up the the bud. Yet in my haste I didnt get a pic and destroyed it while i was inspecting it..

I'm not sure exactly what it is, new grower only 4 grows deep and never seen this before.. no obvious damage to any leafs and did use the loupe for a look on the bit from the Photo and didn't see anything obvious at 60x, plant looked otherwise healthy really. at least to me..wish I took photos before I got rid of it.
Either way, whatever it is. I hope I got it early. Time will tell, I'll be checking them all at lights on in the morning..

We've had to deal with those bastards every which way both indoor and outdoor so whenever any little bit shows up we act quickly. Your diesel comment is funny but not far off from a real solution. People have lost entire warehouse grows to them then have to do deep cleans to make the space useable again. Don't want to freak you out just telling you our experiences. Even if you can't see them some may be hiding out and tucked away. Just make sure no fans are blowing because that's one of the main ways they spread. Or catch a ride on your clothes or dog. Good luck (y)

cheers mate. ya not freaking me out any more than I already have. Its 0215 and im awake thinking about it.. hours till lights on..
Shit thats why I'm exactly here, for the experience and expertise you all have.. I'm like a leech lol sucking knowledge 🤣
Once this round is either cut or abandoned I plan to go nuclear on the tent, gear and the whole shed..
Problem is like you said them hitcthing a ride. I've two dogs and a large yard, must be easy to transport critters in there even after it's sterile..

Same here man that's what makes this forum so awesome. That and the good peeps. We're inside the house on this run but gonna go nuclear in the garage in the fall to prep for winter
I've got both at the moment, one tiny tent in the bedroom. yanked an ounce and a bit from a mama mia and just shy of 2 off the jack herer and both in tiny pots.
The tent in the shed is all in labeled clones of both.. fingers crossed I don't lose it all

What do the leaves look like? Do they have lots of pinpoint speckles? If so, mites. My first thought was mold but its too white. It really could just be that a spider found a home. If mites get to the webbing stage you would see some widespread, telltale signs.
I'm kicking myself that I didn't take more photos.. I went to panic mode = cut and bury..
weirdly the leaves looked okay to me. I did look up spider mite damage and nothing looked even close to that..
I had noticed the odd small spider in the tent but didn't think they'd get into the bud like that.? I had to spread it open a bit for that photo
I'll get better photos tomorrow if there is more. hopefully not though

From that description it sounds like some kind of mold. Doesn't sound like PM. What's your room temp and humidity? How many fans circulating air inside the room?

I have walked into two indoors gardens that had web infestations so severe that there were web tubes in between plants. It stopped me dead in my tracks and I backed out as quickly as I could.

Again, that small web just looks like a spider to me but if you burned and buried that was probably your safest bet without knowing 110%. If you ever suspect bugs of any kind nearly all of them live on the underside of the leaves so just get yourself a jewelers loupe and inspect. There are tons of great bioinsecticides on the market here in the land of the Cheif Cheeto but I am not sure about Down Under.

So the tent in the shed can vary it's temp, no insulation.. Has been as low as 16°C and as high as 27°C, usually fluctuates between.
The RH moves from 45 - 60 depending on lights on or off. Seems to spike a little just after lights off then it stabilizes.
Have the usual exhaust and carbon filter then passive intakes.
Only have the one fan inside for air movement that runs 24/7 blowing air underneath the canopy

Hmm that's got me buggered. At least to my inexperienced eye, it did not look like any of those.
The web or whatever it is In my photo was more to the centre of the bud and spreading out where the mites seem to surround the bud then work in..
Got me stumped..

I overslept after some pity rums last night..
Coffee time then go see what the damage is down down there

One this about botrytis (bow-try-tiss) is that it is really a rotten spot. If you cut the stem you'll see it inside the stem too. Good luck buddy and use beneficials! If you really think it's mites then look with a scope on the undersides, you'll see them and they are teeny with two dark spots, one on either side.
