Big Terps

Growing on a dime
that defoliating during flower, be careful, I have to do it sometimes too, but I notice it def shocks or slows the plant not quite a week to get back goin. JME. And Ive had never quite recover a couple times. Prolly strain dependent. But some plants shake it right off and others seem to be quite shocked for a day or two.
I agree with u on certain strains handle it better than others. Imo the indicas or indica dom strains can handle it better than sativas.. My last grow i took leaves off daily while in flower. No issues or stress.
Now the hazes ive ran they was the only ones ive ever had that didnt like the defoiling.. I had a Hawaiian Skunk haze that hated me after each defoiling, but them dam sativas have way more leaves than i can tolerate..
Another thing imo is the overall health of plant. If u got otber issues going on or sum deficiency, plucking leaves might really stress her out. Usually if plant is thriving them plucking a handful of leaves wont effect it.. Just my opinion..
I find if u can start young with plucking leaves, by time flower comes she wont miss a beat.
And my last findings is that if u veg the plant for a couple months and flip it that they will handle it better than a plant that had short veg time..
I like to have fewer plants with sum weight than a bunch of smaller ones.
Again im not sum know it all expert grower, and my opinions r just from my own experiences.. I usually allways grow indica dom strains so thats where my opinions come from.
The way i look at it is id rather have direct beams hittn every bud site even if i do stress them a little.. Just my 2 cents from what ive had threw the yrs. Thx dude for ur info..

PICK YOUR OWN
i do a 12/12 from seed and I suspect that makes the plants a bit more succeptable to a defoliation shock than one vegged or two months. Man, I miss those days, for real, now if I get the seedlings a week or 2 of 24/7 before goin into the flower tent, Im lucky and so it makes sense those plants wouldn't be as far along, vigorous and healthy as a month or two veg. But I can't wait that long in between times, I need my medicine yesterday, lol. Still tryin to get ahead of my appetite in a 4 x2 tent, a closet and a makeshift closet. Seedlings in the makeshift, try to veg in the closet and get em to the flower tent.

You aren't a real degenerate grower till a veg area takes over Your shower. LOL

Growing on a dime
I'm with you on this, I never do defoliation unless absolutely needed. The big fan leaves are producing and storing food for the whole plant so all leaves are useful.

It's when too many leaves are causing lack of air flow that I start chopping leaves.

I use the weak analogy of "would you run faster if you chopped an arm off?" I know it's a bit different with plants but kinda works though, lol.
I agree with the air flow but after stretch is threw, u want that food and energy being being directed to those colas so every nugg is fully developed and not just the tops..
Those leaves play more of a key role in veg than they do after stretch in flower. Just my thoughts.. I respect ur opinion and am glad ur pursueing somthing u seem to be pickn up dam good in with making and selln your chucks.. Uve got more than 1 id like to try my luck with.. That grape sato or a cross with it, but keep it up dude.. Thx

I think the style of growing has a big effect on this too. If you grow poles I cant see a reason to remove much of anything, but when you train and bush a plant out from experience things underneath can tend to get out of hand. Tucking leaves over leaves and into future colas sounds like a invitation for problems like pm. Not only defoliating but strategically removing new growths that will clog up the interior or other colas can help create more airflow/light penetration which means bigger denser healthier nugs. Ovcourse everything in moderation and preferably before or very early flower. With some of the shit I've seen people do and still have successes I think there is a happy medium here to be found.

I only take fan leafs that are blocking major bud sites everything else stays. And I do it a leaf at a time every other day or so

I've actually grown these before but never got around to pics, so I'll try to this run. First pic is skeleton cookies, and 2nd pic is BBC.

As far as smell, I have yet to find anything that matches the BBC, its like a banana orange smoothie or something. It had tiny buds tho.

And the skeleton cookies is easily one of the greasiest, most potent plants I have ever grown. I couldn't even drive after smoking, and that rarely happens lol. And the smell on it is pretty damn good too, but haven't figured out how to describe it yet...

I have some new flavors for me growing along very nicely. I just started 2 wedding dub (1 in a water farm and 1 in coco).
Stardawg is getting big in a 5 gallon coco pot. I never used one that size before with coco but i like how they grow nice and strong. Week 3 and its setting bud sites now. This will have a lot of buds.

Next harvesting these Heisenbeans Space Gorilla, Purple Cake, GMO cake and then the Stardawg and Adub in a couple months. :D Fire all over the place.

I will wait until the next drop and order some new strains. I have a feeling a Blue Dream Topnanga and blue wedding dreams will be something I will buy.
Or a Blue Dream S1....
Or all 3.
I can't wait.
