My Bagseed Experiment

But i would like to have an area for veg and flower so it is on a rotating plan. Harvest every 6 weeks or so on different plants.
More double-aught reply - duck and cover...

My grow-thread is in the link in my signature block. I just got the thanksgiving guests kicked out and am prepping to drop seeds in the near future (before Christmas). I am growing out what I have in flower and starting over with the rotation.

Long story short, I am new to the forum. I love input, corrections, helpful hints, "don't do that you dumb-ass" and stuff. So I post everything. Success and failure. This will be my first seeds dropped on this forum so I will try to cover everything I do to get pointers from people that have been growing for longer than 2 years.

If you want to wait to drop seeds and follow along, I can be a crutch ;)

High humidity in seedling and early veg - then start weaning them and go for the lowest you can get in flower. 55-60 (if constant) is a great starting point. you don't have to add much to make the babies happy (domes, misting), and you can drop it in flower easily by bumping up the ventilation.

In seed/early-veg you can just mist with RO/distilled water occasionally to raise a small tent humidity. If you want a "starter" space for this it doesn't need a lot of watts, height, or square footage. In a month (when I flip) most plants will be less than a foot tall but have enough structure and be ready for topping, training, etc.

I forgot to mention - about the rotation thing - the average MJ plant flowers for roughly 2 months. so that plays well into the drop/harvest every month to month and a half. Some flower longer and can hiccup the rotation, but it doesn't have lasting effects since you aren't portioning out the weed you have left until it's done. You end up just harvesting it later, closer to your next harvest which will now be bigger, and everyone is happy.

@H.A.F. I'm new to all forums so I'm still working out how to even use the functions. Especially on mobile. I only got on forums because I was in panic mode with my plants and found some good stuff online.

It would be great to actually see someone that has experience's set-up. However it is highly unlikely since I don't really socialize and live in TN. So I will follow your journal and hope that is a good visual indicator.

That rotation is perfect for me. I'd like to be able to keep plants going, especially in the event something happens and one doesn't make it. Losing all that time would be awful.

I'm going to order some happy frog soil as well to mix in with the ocean forest to tamp down the nutes. I've also got a few more items on the way to help monitor my levels.

If you can get your temperature down To 74 that would be great! But then you’d need to get your humidity down to about 48% according to the VPD chart I have.

You can find it HERE if your interested.
Thank you. That calms me down a bit. The light doesn't feel hot to my hand but sustained heat like that can be detrimental to any plant.

Quick question for you on the VPD charts. When reading the charts is it the same at light and dark periods. And is one more important than the other trying to get things dialed in?

Good Question! I always assumed it would be for anytime. I’m certainly no expert, but I would think they are both equally important and you should try to get as close to the ideals as possible.

Update on day 87: Jesus I should be farther than this but I have 2 live plants and it is a learning experience. I'm reaping my own self-assuredness that it can't be that hard. Do your research people. Anyway.

So my female is doing extraordinarily well. I fed both of them 5 days ago with a bit of FFBB and FFGB. They both were beginning to turn a bright yellow at the top beginning on the outside of the leaves going in. I also did a light foliar feed of Epsom to introduce some Cal-mag as I use RO water. It had to be either Cal-mag or nitrogen as they are a deep and beautiful green now.

My girl is really starting to bush up again and her pistils are looking whimsical. My other plant, sex yet to be determined, has surprised me since seed that it has stayed alive so the fact it is still going is a shock. It is also beginning to get some new growth at the nodes though it is still a 3 blade plant. I'm posting a picture of my female and my as-yet-unknown sex plant.

As my tent tends to stay in the mid 80s I have set up a kind of cool air intake with some dryer ducting and my circulation fan. Now it is sitting at a steady 78 and the plants seem to enjoy it.

That is fine with me. If you want a quick tutorial, look at the beginning of this thread he shows how he starts and repots plants with pics. Good basic info on one way to skin the cat. I follow his method - because he sends me seeds 🤔 If I kill them using his method he can't chastise me 🤣

Bwahahahaha! I'm following that thread actually. I'll go back and re-read.

Update and question. So my girl(s) are doing well. Swaying in the breeze and what not. I think I may be able to see the beginnings of a bud site on my little plant. I swear I can see what looks like a pistil at the juncture with new growth. Just gonna wait and see.

So I still update my journal at RIU. Definitely not as regularly but it stays up to date. Someone commented on that thread and said it looked like I had a powdery mildew problem. It is from my day 87 post. Since i don't know what I'm looking for can I get some input on if I have that please? And here she is this morning.

So my babies are doing well. My deformed plant seems to be leaning male. The calyxes seem to be swelling? I will get a close up of that when I get home. I'm also starting to get a couple of light tipped blades. Not sure if it is a light nute burn or a light burn but I'm going to keep a close eye on it.

I believe VPD is a relation of RH room temp and leaf temp.
So ya night would be different because your leaf temp is the same temp or lower than room at night. I don’t think night is as crucial as day, just have to keep RH below powdery mildew happy zone.

Rooted

It is not a trick of the light. I had watered them on Friday night. I only water when the soil feels totally dry 2 inches down. They haven't needed it as much as I thought.

So even though I have never fed them still wait until it dries to give them the food? My order was delayed until Tuesday so it won't be here until then anyway.

I actually cut holes in the sides of the pot and used a pipe cleaner to hold it down. I'm looking for something to keep them below 3 feet basically.

Mind you, there is a good chance both plants are males. I'm using these for practice now that I should have my feminised seeds by 12/5.
Doubt theyre male. Almost bet female. Seedless weed is mostly indoors which means that a seed in that bud more than likely came from a stressed plant kicking nanner. It wasnt a male hit it or be seed everywhere. Im still at beginning of youre tgread so maybe speaking of things you know now. Dont mean dont grow it just watch weeks 2-5 flower. I watch em all anyways. Even bought fem seed. Im no pro just thought i get it out there.

I'm not familiar with powdery mildew - my rH is always really low, so I get different issues. I would read about PM, then see what the environmental causes are, and see how much matches what you have. Change stuff if you think you need to.

I will not diagnose problems or deficiencies. I haven't been at this long and doing the wrong thing is almost always worse than doing nothing ;) Watch it, see if it gets worse or better or if what you see spreads to another plant. Read about fixes, a lot are from stuff you have on hand. Peroxide has many uses that are plant safe, this might be one. Keep some handy.

Also, in some of your pics I see the leaves are wet.

  • If you spray the leaves, you could be adding to moisture in a "mold" environment - bad.
  • You could also just have stuff in the water (mineral content) that looks like a white powder when it dries - especially over time.
This 👆 is why I don't attempt diagnoses
