Just be careful and dont leave the pots always soaked. :)

Copied from growweedeasy
Fungus gnat larvae eat fungus or decaying matter and need wet conditions to thrive. It is common for soil growers to overwater their cannabis plants, and wet soil is the perfect home for fungus and decaying organic matter. They are like a pain in the ass fruit fly.

With coco i never had the problem but that root farm organic soil stays wet longer. Regular soil is the same.

Its tricky. :) But weigh the pots dry and let them get close to it.

The question is...bag or bricks. Bagged coco is more expensive but the good stuff is all nice and fluffy and ready to go.

Bricks are cheaper. 11 pound bricks are 20 bucks. But that fills about 20 gallons of pots

Canna coco has an easier to use block that is a little more expensive but splits into 4 easy and you can hydrate it in a 5 gallon bucket.

And its easier to feed coco. Make a feed and water solution about half strength and feed it every time you water with that. Every time. The one in the tent took 1 gallon per day for about 45 days in a row through flower. Feed and water ever time.

Soil is cheaper...i get why people use it...like eureka right there :D In addition to it being the original medium.

We've used about 10 bags of Fox Farm Coco Loco and that was ok. Still using some in a side project. We've used about 30 bags of Royal Gold Basement Mix for a run and ended up getting serious fungus gnats. They actually came with the bags 😕 Vigilant spraying of Plant Therapy and yellow sticky traps. Almost had to bomb the fuckers.
If we ever do a full coco run again, it will likely be bricks.

I started using root farm organic hydroponic medium with my coco about 2 weeks ago. They should call it gnats in a bag. What a pile of crap.
I am going to put the other 2 bags in the garage for outdoor stuff.
Back to pure coco. The good stuff. Gnat free and no bs except for daily watering And i caught them early.
