@H.A.F. it was actually what I bought at the store until I got a digital pH meter. I still go by my soil but the weight test is a bitch as the bottom of the pot is layered with rock. I had the brilliant idea that it would help with drainage.

So this is my girl from about 6 hours ago. As i said, she is nice and healthy. My husband is now thoroughly amazed and checks her more than i do. Considering where i started with this plant and where I am now, it is a hell of a change. Also, I'll have my PPM meter today. I've been rarely watering and even more rarely feeding. You can always add more but it is very difficult to get rid of too much. @H.A.F. what is a good ppm reading to you?

Totally unrelated to my grow but i really needed to share this. At 3am this morning my husband heard a loud noise outside. He goes upstairs and I hear him yell to call the cops. I don't care for calling the cops but he yelled it again so i did. He comes down and tells me there is some asshole breaking into cars in our parking lot. We are just a set of townhouses so our lot isn't very big. So it is Christmas morning and I'm on the phone with the cops watching this asshole in skinny jeans, a blue hoodie with a big white bike swoosh, and a white camo ski mask literally toss my car with a flashlight. He destroyed my car. This douche even popped my fucking trunk and searched it. He left it all open. So the cops pull in with no lights and i shit you not, this guy is in our neighbor's car with his foot on the brake pedal and a flashlight on searching it. I tell the dispatcher they just walked past him and they turned around. Dude tried to run but the cops tackled his ass. They pulled guns but in this case I can't blame them. Then they go to the lexus he had been driving and tap on the window with their light. Dude had the world's worst lookout in the car. They pull her out too. Turns out dude had felony warrants from Vermont (I'm very far from Vermont), the car was stolen, and the tag was stolen.

It just pisses me off that these assholes seemed to intend on stealing presents that parents were hiding as santa gifts. That is about the time in the morning people would be doing that. Sorry for the rant. Just seeing the world's worst criminals was ridiculous. The car was white and sounded like a fucking duly truck. Idiots.

And actually, i had to block the door to keep him from going out and attacking the dude. He has been building his car for 7 years and it has a custom handle. The thief kept pulling at it and he was pissed thinking they were going to break it. But last time he got involved he got arrested even though I called the cops. They dropped the charges a year later but that was an awful year. Anyway. I'm just glad they couldn't hit another neighborhood. And maybe this will be what they need to change their lives. Arrested on Christmas. 10 years ago I was caught on 12-21 and I lost 9 months of my life. Since then I got clean and cleaned up my act. Hopefully this can be that for them. But still, fuck them. And Merry Christmas!

That dude really would have. My husband is like the hulk, he's always angry. He literally has anger tattooed across his stomach. But like i told him, it could have went bad in so many ways. I'm just glad he stayed in. If he really wanted to, he could have gotten past me. And yeah. I'm all about second chances. Though the thief seems to be on at least a 3rd. I was a fuck up for a while. 4th week of flower and she smells like a straight skunk. Some of the pistils are developing red tones or just turning straight red. The density is beginning to really kick off. What were little bud sites are now turning into what look like singular 6 and 7 inch buds as they have extended.

So i noticed I've got some red pistils developing. From the research I've done it seems I am right on schedule. About to be in week 5 of flower. Trichomes are beginning to spread to fan leaves. She just looks fucking beautiful.

@H.A.F. what is a good ppm reading to you?

Sorry, just getting caught up. Every nutrient line has a different recommendation. You have to remember that after the water has filtered through the soil it is the food you just added coming out, less some that stuck behind - and the old stuff in the soil that hasn't been eaten yet that is being rinsed through.

I think it was discussed previously that I use it as a guide. Anyway, top part is my schedule (that I use 25% of) and the bottom part is yours. In week 8 why does your plant need 2310ppm but mine only needs 1190ppm?
For my purposes, I try to keep it around 1200 in flower. I've seen it as high as 2500 before and the plants didn't care. So I'm not as focused on ppm other than to tell me when to feed.

I'm not going back through my whole technique, because using the top-dressings is different from straight liquid feed, but basically stick with feed-water-feed-water at 25% and you should be good. In checking the run-off, especially during early- to mid-flower, I mainly watch for it to be low. They eat more then, and sometimes I have mixed up nutes and added some when the "water-day" run-off was low (under 1000ppm at that stage of flower).

short answer I basically adjust my F-W-F-W as needed, based on the history of the ppm I have been putting in compared to what I think the plant has been eating (based on run off).

A good rule of thumb for me is to mix up a recommended dose of whatever you use in a gallon of water and see what the ppm is. Or you can mix a 25% dose. Whatever.

Just see what you are feeding them one day and check the run off. You should get about 20% volume, so if you put a gallon through you should get between a pint and a quart. If you don't get that much feed more.

You have the in and the out ppm for reference. Next time add calmag or whatever to your water, adjust the pH (it all adds ppm) and check the input and output ppm again.

You'll gradually get a feel for what the plant is doing. Some people log it, I just put a note on the calendar to "feed next" or "water next". I stick with the F-W-F-W unless the plant tells me different.

Nice! I told you you could grow smoke! They look healthy, so this last part should be a breeze!

If they are turning you have roughly 3 weeks to a month before it is ripe. This is what I consider as the transition from "flowering" to "late" flowering. What I do at this point is look at my "schedule" for whatever nutes I'm using and start working backwards. You can keep feeding them the same thing forever while the plant is still growing and stretching and putting out more pistils. But most nute lines have a shift in what is fed at the end.

It takes about two weeks for most of the pistils to turn brown and a week more for them to plump up. That would put it at three weeks out.

Many strains put out a second round of calyxes/pistils at about the time the first ones are getting done, and that can add another week or more to the end. This is your first plant though, so put the 25th on the calendar as a tentative chop date (4 weeks) - but you'll probably be smoking the trim-hash before then

If it was safe to send some to you I would. You have been an amazing help getting me this far. I read your estimated chop date for me and literally got out of my car to run back in to share with my husband. I was only 8 minutes late. Lol. I've got the meter now though so I'll cut her down on nutes until i do the flush.

Fed last night. Initial reading was 479. My runoff came in at 1368. I was trying to cut back a bit on the initial.
