Well, the light build is on hold for now. One of my strips was bad. Everything lit up to test, and one went out within a minute. Bummer.

Anyway, here are some more build pics.

Applying double sided thermal transfer tape.



LED strips installed.





And wired up.





And the test fire...D'oh. At least it wasn't my fault. Wiring is solid, voltage range is right.

Edit: I'd let it do a 48 hour burn in, just to make sure nothing else goes out.

That's probably not a bad idea. I should be able to jumper a resistor between the dimming leads and run it pretty soft.

Good question. I'd happily pay more for a US made product, I routinely do just that.

Shit happens in manufacturing though, I just got lucky. And these aren't some bargain basement, Alibaba special strips.

I paid good money for my black dog light and it had a dead board. They made good on the light, let me keep the dud until I got the replacement too.

shit happens. Hope they make good on it.

I see lots of people going to the bars. I think the spread you can have makes it easier to get even coverage. No dark corners and whatnot.

Good deal man, looking like it's gonna rock it once up and running 100%, I can't think of a dam thing to complain about mine lol, even coverage, even heat dispersion, and with a remote mounted ballast, they don't weigh shit, I know my cob light is a hoss compared to a 5 strip build

My big shop I have 100w replacement led 6’ on center. So in a 72x48 building I’ve got 68 bulbs 6’ squares. Minus a 12’ loft in back and a 16x20 office shitter area. Much better light coverage than the last shop with mh bulbs like 12’ on center.

im sure strips are better just from the coverage perspective.

I'm lurking and watching, and like honest reviews of lights. I'm cool with the ones I have but they'll die eventually. No telling what the new thing will be by that time.
