So the plant with the funky leaves had balls. I called him this morning and put a different plant in his big pot. Tonight after work, that plant has a hair!! First confirmed female!

That’s a great feeling!

And just for my records the female showed at 39 days from dry seed.

Time for the Sunday update!

I’m transitioning into flower so on Friday, I started the light an hour later and ended an hour earlier. Did the same on Saturday and today will be the first day of 12/12.

I did a light de-leafing on Saturday. Being fairly new, it was a little unnerving taking leaves off so I went easy and took about only 10 leaves off per plant.

During the defoliation, I found balls on what was the nicest looking plant that I was sure was a girl. It was the front left plant in the pics above.

I’m down to three plants in the tent as I had originally planned. Two of them are confirmed female (the two on the right in the pic below). The left plant is still not showing any sexy parts that I can find.

These plants are only about 10” tall. Given the height restrictions in my tent, I had planned on them being 12” at flip, so I’m pretty happy with where they’re at.

I also took some time to cinch up the ducting now that the light has been raised substantially. Gotta keepnit neat!

Looking nice over there. Looks like the one closest to the fan has a bit of windburn on her, imho.
Two of my girls closest to the fan breeze had/has the same leaf look for the part of her hit full blast with the fan. Rest of her is fine, but she don't like the full breeze. Lol.

That plant has always had the funky leaves. I thought it was wind related too and moved it out of the way for about a week with no difference. In fact, it looked less happy without a breeze on it. I believe it is just the phenotype.

BTW, in that pic, it looks like the fan is blowing directly on the plant, but only the "edge" of the fan wind is catching the plant.

I try to move my fans around a bit every few days just to mix things up a bit.

Yes! Confirmed the third plant is female! Found the first hair on her tonight at day 45 from dry seed.

I love it when a plan comes together! I sprouted six photo seeds wanting three females. Love it. Hahaha.

Also did a very light de-leafing, taking only 4 leaves from each plant.

Hello Growers and Happy Mother’s Day! I hope you guys and gals all did all the Moms in your lives proud today.....

One more week has passed. The plants are 49 days from dry seed today and one week in flower.

Although they’re still under the metal halide, there are really getting their stretch on, they all grew an inch since yesterday.

If you missed any of my earlier posts, I’m down to three plants now and they are all confirmed female (well they all have pistils, I haven’t seen any balls on any of them, but I’ll be sure to keep an eye out.

They all seem to have really “perked up” in the last week. All looking healthy and happy.

They really have taken off! Looking absolutely phenomenal. Nice clean set up! They definitely look perked up, happy for you! I'm beating my ladies up right fucking around with different problems to learn from them. So if I encounter those problems randomly, I'll be able to handle it and not freak out.

Looking good!! Man, I was worried when you said slow growth, twisted leaves, signs of micro-mites. Didn't see the other telltale which looks like P def. I was gonna have you scope the leaves, but whatever it was, they're growing out of it now!

Looking good @Old ST1R . That is going to be a crowded tent soon. Just a suggestion at week 2 get in there and do a serious defoliation. I just try to picture how air flow can get thru and around that canopy. If it does not get good airflow you will open the door to other problems.If i got in there and defoliated that pan you are showing would be mounded up 6-or 8 " high. Good luck looks like you are off to a great start!

I have always done my major defoliation 2 weeks after flip. They are in such a major growth spert that it hardly bothers them. After 3 weeks the stretch slows down a lot. I am sure it can be done at 3 weeks just have always herd it was better to do it at 2 weeks into flower. Also from that point to finish i cut off fan leaves that are blocking any light to bud area's or lower ones that are not getting much light. I used to be concerned about hurting the plant now have little fear of taking to many fan leaves or just snapping branches over if the get to tall. Controlling the canopy height can rely increase your yield.

Here is my Sunday update. A day late cause I was too busy yesterday cooking my famous roast beef dinner and ended up getting way too intoxicated!

Theses pictures are from yesterday, day 56 from dry seed, 14 days in 12/12. I did a defoliation on Saturday morning and before the light came on on Sunday, I switched the bulb to the HPS - it’s like there’s a fire in my tent!

I think they look really good. I’ve noticed they’re starting to drink more now and they are growing about an inch a day. I imagine a lot of that growth is “the stretch”. The tallest one now is about 22” tall!

Oh yeah, I also removed some larfy branches on Saturday and didn’t want them to go to waste.

I saw a video on YouTube about how honey is a natural root stimulant, so I put a couple of drops in some water, scuffed up the ends of the cuttings with a knife and stuck them in the honey water.

I was surprised to see them perk up after a couple of hours in the honey water. If it doesn’t work, no big deal, I don’t really care. If they do root, I may try building a space bucket and run them in there for fun. We’ll see.

Here is my weekly update.

Today is day 63 from dry seed and 21 days into 12/12.

Two of the plants seem to have stopped stretching, while the third continues to grow roughly an inch a day. I hope it slows down soon otherwise I’m going to have to start raising the other two and I’m starting to run out of headroom.

The two shorter plants are stacking up better than the other, but I think the tall skinny girl is showing more frost. Also, for those that haven’t been following, these plants are Sweet and Sour, a cross between Island Sweet Skunk and Sour Diesel. I think the tall skinny chick is leaning more towards the Island Sweet Skunk, while the two stouter plants lean towards the Diesel.

During the week, I’ve done a bit of selective de-leafing - nothing major, just removed some larger leaves that were shading some of the lower tops.

All in all, I think they are doing all right! I haven’t had any deficiencies and besides a few gnats at the beginning, they are pest free (knock on wood).
