The Not So Infamous Grow Journal: Eso Strains ONLY in DWC & Soil

So over the years....I have used quite a few different brands of fabric pots. Some 5 gallons for one brand is a 1 gallon in other brands. The 5 gallons I'll be using for this run will be linked below. I have found these are to my best liking. Nice thick and well sewn handles. ( have had handles break while lifting using other brands ) So....from here on out, these are the ones I will use when I am running in soil.

Hey you got a 32 special ! I have that same tent (5 foot 2 max height).
For me it fit like a glove in my space and the other 4 inches would have robbed me of functionality.

And 1 gallon pots are the best. I have 20 of them and i think i will grab another dozen. They are FANTASTIC for sexing plants and you can let them get pretty big if you want to up pot some and watch them really take off. I find i am always running out.

looking great!

So got them moved into finals last night...Gonna give them a day or two to adjust to the new pots. After that, gonna start training them, top what needs to be topped and get ready to flip them. Going to let them really fill that tent in and by that time a good 2 weeks or so my flowering plants will be ready to come down. Get these ladies ready to show off.

Here is one of the way I like to train. The plant that I am doing this on is the Twinkle Tarts. First picture is the full plant picture. She has a slight deficiency but this will be corrected with the new soil they just got and a low dose feed. If your plants are suffering and you are trying to get them to bounce back, I highly suggest waiting to train them. *Note* Sticker on pot is old lol

If you remember a couple weeks ago, I had removed the very first node on the plant when I topped her. This is that first node.

So now that I am going to apply LST, the 2nd node originally is my first node to be tied down.

Because of space issues in my tent, I used this plastic pot. I like to use binder clips and brown twine which can be found at any local dollar store. I get mine in Dollar Tree. Since the plant is still younger it's much easier to tie down the plant without risking snapping the branch. Doing it enough times....it's bound to happen. Picture below is tie #1 on node #1.

Continue doing so on the other side as well.

Now that you have both sides tied down....moved up to node #2 and repeat process.

So after you have all 4 sides tied down....I then go in and top each side that's tied down once and for the last time. DO NOT REMOVE ANY NODES!!!! This is EXTREMELY important. In a few days, those nodes will start growing upwards and it will fill that center in really nicely. From this point on....she is done and ready to be flipped. You honestly can flip her right now if you wanted to and you wouldn't see much of a difference. I am going to let them fill in though and remove anything I need to prior to going into flower.

Day 39 of Veg:

Girls have taken to LST rather well. The Twinkle Tarts is now displaying a calcium deficiency on new growth. I am going to add cal-mag every feed and water from this point out. She had a yellowish tint as well showing a Nitrogen deficiency. This is starting to clear up with the new soil and the heavy feed. They are still being hit with 20/4 lighting but this week I am going to start dropping that down to 18/6. Im going to add rulers to each pot so I can measure individual growth for flowering stretch to see how much per day they are gaining. Who are the growers and who are the showers....we will find out. Other then that....not much else going on with the girls. Going to be flipping them in about 2.5 weeks.

Cut a few LST ties...I don't think I can properly train them in the limited space. At least all of them. Once I flip them over into my main flower room, I'll start to tie them again. No biggie.

On another note, I had put the rulers into the pots. I would say each ruler is inserted about 3-4 inches on the outside of the soil. Most of the plants tower over the ruler. All 7 has one and most you can't even see anymore lol. They are gonna be very nice sized plants when all said and done.

I am going to defoliate a bit as well in the next day or two. May get done today. This will not be a light defol either. Going to take a good 25% off each plant and let them recover for the time until they are ready to be flipped. Nutrients will go back up to normal this week. Each plant will receive the full rec dose on the Fox Farms trio.

Black Grapes Dum Dum is an average feeder for the most part. She is one of the shorter plants of the group. Low to mid-low side growth.

Dinoberry Bites is also an average feeder. Tremendous side growth with this pheno. Can see multiple defoliations needed throughout her life cycle. Very aggressive growth recently. I also bent her stem with apical dominance to even her out a litte. This may be a plant that does extremely well with scrog because of that growth.

Welchie is an average to slightly above average feeder. Another plant with nice side growth. One of the more taller plants of the group.

Twinkle Tarts is my heaviest feeder and also my tallest plant of the group. Looks like a sativa... but also side branches somewhat well. I could see this plant needing to be tied up at some point.

Albino Boogieman is the 2nd heaviest feeder in the group. Another plant that seems will need a couple defoliations along the way. Just as tall as Twinkle Tarts but just a little shorter.
