Dude! Those are straight snowballs. IMHO, you had a successful trial run. Better to get quality then adjust for quantity.

Sorry l wasnt following along. I didn't know you started a diary here on Chucker's and I backed off the forums for a bit cause I was getting a little burnt after 2yrs of near constant posts on the Farm. I've also been busy taking care of over 20 plants and starting 36 clones.

Looking forward to your 'serious' run. Good job my friend. Can't wait to send you back some fresh Jack fem beans, plus X's for easier to grow, hardier, genetics.

I have a round of some seeds getting close to wrapping up. If you're interested in any of them I can send some your way. I'll reach out when they're finished.

Flower Tent Update: continued - Some of the pollinated clones; Day 68 / 52 days after pollination. All of these were pollinated with my 9lb. Hammer male. I'm still waiting for the seeds to finish up. I stopped feeding last watering and plan to give them straight tap water from here on out. I did cut the top fan leaves off of a couple of the plants for two reasons. 1. An attempt to allow more light down to the lower flower sites. 2. An attempt to make the plant think it was getting eaten and hopefully focus most of its energy toward the seeds. I'm thinking I must be getting close. These clones were about 8-10" tall when I flipped them to flower. I'm guessing they're roughly 18-24" now.

BCK - This one would do very well in SOG with it's single cola stacking

What’s your review on the 9lbhammer? Always interested in that one.
It was a nice easy grower with good vigor. It handled training well but it was sure to let me know when it was time to water. It was always the first to start drooping a little if watering was late. There was some decent stretch and didn't stack very tightly like some of my other strains. However the bud structure was great. Nice sized, dense flowers. It was my lowest yielder, but I'll attribute that to a few different factors on my part before claiming it's average. It isn't the most dank and that's one thing it lacks. It's not pungent. But again, that could be on me. I only had a very small, sampled size run. I harvested at 66 days. It would be worth popping both packs and really searching through them. I don't have the palate yet for flavor. I need more testers to try it still. I also can't quite nail down the aroma on this one just yet. I'm waiting for another nose. With all that said, it's on more of the potent side and the high is great. One hit and had a good buzz for at least two hours. It didn't have a crash, but that may also be attributed to the cup of coffee. If it peaks your interest, I'd give a thumbs up to trying it. I personally think it's worth it. So far the BCK and 9lb. Hammer have been my favorite.

Hey, you should pop some of those Chocolate Orange Creamsicle on your next run. They love being indoors with their pale leaves and they're heavy yielders. Oh, and they'll make your growroom smell like a citrus orchard. It's hard to over-feed em too.
I know, I know. lol. I really do want to get to them soon. Based on what you told me about the almost nauseating, obnoxious smell, and airy, fluffy bud structure, I really wanted to nail down and find a couple of good suiters. I already have one winner that's actually only missing that "in your face" smell. But it's a female. So I would need to get really lucky and find a good male in your batch, or wait to get some pollen. I'm opting for pollen because I want to send a bunch of seeds back to you. I know they were limited with what you had on hand. But more importantly I'd be looking to dense those airy flowers up. Not to mention I want them to pack a punch. "I just want to do right by you and make you proud Junk." lol

Actually, the flowers weren't so larfy after the Chocolate Diesel cross. You want to wait to harvest till the cola tops are "just" slightly over-ripe. When you cure, they need to be burped about twice as often a the other flowers. They're very juicy buds. After nearly a year of curing in jars, last years batch was still hitting 64% humidity.

Honestly, I've moved on from them. Their "eat the fridge" munchies are too much for me. All I care about is that someone is propagating them. They really are a worthy strain to keep from extinction. I'll probably take some clones from my current two (if they are female) and cross them with your Jack Herer to reduce the munchies.

So I have found a black horse, stand out keeper in my garden. I just haven't decided what to call it yet and would appreciate some feedback.

Here's the history of my BCK:
While shopping at my local hydro store, some random stranger approached me and asked me if I wanted some free seeds. He said he thought they were Birthday Cake Kush, but he wasn't certain. He also didn't know who the breeder was. He ended up giving me three seeds that I gratefully accepted.

Considering they were free, and unknowns, I didn't put much stock into them. I already had a run starting so I decided to pop just one seed. My expectations were very low.

Fast forward to harvest and the BCK is hands down my front running favorite. It literally grades high in "almost" every single category. I feel extremely lucky and fortunate to have come across these mystery beans. It's absolutely blown me away throughout the entire grow. I look forward to keeping it around for a long while and seeing what I can do with it. I see this as being a staple in the stable.

It started off very strong with great root development. It has excellent structure and vigor. The untrained clone I took grew in a tightly stacked, top to bottom, single cola. It would be perfect for SOG. Do you want branching? I trained the mother hard and she absolutely loved everything I threw at her. She responded extremely well and developed strong branching. I don't see any method of grow that she wouldn't thrive in.

I love her saw blade leaves and she clones very easily.

Her flowers are big, dense, and absolutely coated in very sticky, super glue like trichomes. Again, from top to bottom.

The only thing she lacks is a strong dank smell. I really struggled to get a smell without a stem rub. She's a trimming nightmare. Trimmings constantly stick to the bud being worked, and the scissors are wrecked after the second or third bud. However, while trimming and smelling my gloved fingertips, she smells like some sort of cooking spice, (hard to put a finger on it) and a mineral, dirt, hash plant smell.

The high hits hard and she's very potent. The exhale out of the mouth left the nose tingling. And the taste randomly brought me back, like deja vu, to smoking in the late 90's. It was a trip. An unexpected stroll down memory lane.

Like I mentioned before, I didn't expect much from this bean. So she wasn't in any of my plans. However, now I plan to use her for some time. It will be nice to add that dank smell and hopefully some tastier flavors in some crosses. I honestly believe she's an absolute winner. So before I pop the last two remaining seeds, I want to S1 her so I have some more beans for the stock in the event I lose her to misfortune.

Here's my conundrum. What do I call her? It would be cut and dry if I knew what she was and where she came from. But I'd hate to call her a Birthday Cake Kush if she wasn't. That's why lately I've just been referring to her as BCK. (Aside from shortening it up when typing) I would never want to rename someone else's genetics nor give them the credit they deserve.

So what would you do?

1. Continue calling it Birthday Cake Kush
2. Just call it BCK
3. Or Rename it considering all of the unknowns

I'm personally leaning toward number 2. BCK seems more like the middle road. And possibly adding Phylex cut. But I'd like to know what you guys think since I plan to use this for a long time.

Thanks in advance

I did originally. I have a list of everything I have and their lineage charts. I originally added her as Birthday Cake Kush to the list. But now that I'm keeping her and will be working her, I'm at a crossroads. Only for the reason of the gifter being uncertain of what she was. It was his best guess. I'd hate to be mistakingly misleading if she wasn't Birthday Cake Kush. If I knew she was, or where she came from, this wouldn't even be an issue. That's why I've been leaning toward BCK and at least I'm keeping her initials just in case. I could label/describe it as BCK (genetics uncertain, probably Birthday Cake Kush) - Or are you suggesting it's better to just call it Birthday Cake Kush moving forward regardless of the uncertainty, because that's what was said? I'd hate to mislabel it, and unfortunately I'll never know. I'm just trying to do what's right.

No I’m not suggesting you call it Birthday Cake Kush. I provided the link so that you could compare those notes against your actual plant.

I like PBCK - Presumed Birthday Cake Kush or Phylex Birthday Cake Kush.

Regardless of what it actually is, it looks killer and I can see why you want to keep it
