I bought 2 cases of 1986 Fleer Basketball in 1988 in Hawaii , got 77 Jordan rookies, not to mention all the other RCs in that set , paid 200 a case and sold the loose cards to a card dealer in Louisiana 4 years later for 25K , could have gotten a lot more looking back but it paid the down on a house, they can have big value if You get the right stuff early before a guy blows up, in 1986 you couldn't give Basketball cards away , till that Jordan's guy anyway
If I remember right, I think I was in 5th grade, we had some kind of contest or something and a girl won. The prize was Michael Jordan's rookie card. Last time I seen her she still had that card. My family talks a lot about my uncles cards that got throwed away when one of my aunts was cleaning my grandparents house. I guess he's in his sixties now maybe 70's and collected them when he was a kid and to hear them say it there was like two or three big trunks full. It was back in the mid 80s when they got threw away so idk.

I had mark mcquires olympic rookie card. during his homerun record breaking year it was worth over $1200. I went to sell it but dude at card shop fucked me by telling me, "Id hold on to that, its gonna be worth a fortune..."

Well the very next yr Bonds smashed Marks record and the card instantly was worth like $.50 cents. Fml
Oh the steroid days! They dont have big MFers like that anymore.

Funny you mentioned that, brother bought baseball cards in the 80's and 90's. Still have boxes of Fleer and another brand not opened.
I still have a bunch of early 90's cards here.

I just trashed one that was 4 weeks into bloom, I didn’t like the way it had grown, tall skinny branches that were wanting to take up a whole 4x4, lol. Might have been some killer shit, but who would give up the room, not me.
Chopping a tent full of GMO Cake at 5 weeks past flip was a tough decision, but ultimately liberating. Babying every plant thinking I might terminate 'the one' was the old way for years. Only allowing the ones that make me happy to finish is better. Much better.

Old Pete Rose

He was the team manager, forget the team maybe the red sox?, and he was betting on his team. He got booted out of the league and barred from going into hall of fame.

Edit, amos just posted a pic and it was the reds, not red sox.
I'm sorry for being facetious . I know THE Peter 🌹 I am a true baseball nut. I will take my sarcasm and baseball banter TO THE SINK!!!!
