Wtf is ILGM.COM lol
actually the first forum I found. It's a white-label seed vendor in Europe that advertized guaranteed germination and lots of "10 + 10 free" offers that sucks in a lot of newbs. Their forum is hot garbage and super left-wing political. UK sensibilities? Whatever. First seeds I bought.

Sucking in firrst time growers is a big time business. Not a lot of return custy's though.

For those new to the seed buying game, if a company has every strain known to man, in fem, reg, and auto - beware.
If they don't tell you actually who made the seeds- beware.

Price is no indicator of legitimacy. Great breeders sell beans cheap and a lot of scammer put a high price on their mids because they know they won't get return customers.

Ahh ok. It's been a minute since being on forums so not to up to date on the abbreviations and older/newer banks. I tend to use like 3 banks in total. I remember my very first seed pack order came from Neptune and it had taken me like 3 months to open it because I was afraid the feds would be knocking on my door. Little did I know at the time lol. The problem with new growers......and we see it every time is zero to no planning or learning, just pop a seed and water it. I mean we have to all learn from somewhere but ya I completely agree with taken advantage of new customers. Hell....I have a big ass box of old led's that id never use because ya know.....I didnt read a thing lol.

A little "research" goes a VERY long way specially when there's a plethora of legit banks and breeders out there and not just random pollen chuckers.

I have enough spare lights to grow a 10'x'10' without even touching the two blurples.

I'll drop the rest of that pack at some point. I didn't bother smoke-testing 6-week weed. I am still of the opinion that the skunk was really great, because it was being compared to mexican brick weed and other 'long term' weed shipped from far and wide.

The first fresh weed we got was skunky. It was also pine-y. It was sticky.
It was also low-tolerance kids used to mids that got their first taste of some low-end kind bud.
We loved the smell because we associated it with fresh weed and it had little or no seeds.
If you bought a quarter bag all you weren't smoking was stems. That was new not having seed-weight as part of the fraction.
I also gave us the giggles and created memorable stoner moments.
I think the up-side of it was that it was sticky. If you had it squished in a sack in your sock anything sqiushed out of trichomes soaked into the leaves and didn't fall off with the shake because there was none.
But if you gave us a sack now it would not be in a sack.
It would be well dried and cured in a jar and kept in cool temps and won't have that same smell.

As far as the forum there was a contest that I think artificially boosted the participation for a bit. Then when "everybody won" there was no drama to be had after LOL
Oh you "naive" student of mine. lol
I'm token the best weed I've smoked in a long time. I'm afraid to jar it,
cause if it gets near a flame, it will ignite. That is what the "esters" can do. lol
If you want to stop by,
I will prove just how good this Skunk is, my forum friend.
I'll put up my late 90's Skunk up against any so called Skunk out there.
I might just be the last one with these genetic nuances in high enough ratios,
But, I got it, and always said I have it. My story has never changed.
I'm not like everybody else, I wasn't in all these early forums.
I grew and bred Skunk.
Ah, I know,
it's that nasty Ohio clay glacial runoff or is it the ancient lake bed I'm sitting in. lol
You are welcome to stop by and we can settle this discussion. lol
I've now concluded late 90's early 2000's was the high point of cannabis.
I understand why it was taken out now.
It's like the Greek language, nothing compared, even today. lol
They intentionally destroyed the Skunk to give the other strains a fighting chance. lol

Well hell, what a sad bunch of "Skunk" hunters we have here.
Has everyone basically given up the search,
and now believe our memories were just exaggerated bragging?
I'm beginning to see it fading into "myth.
If you actually had seed in your hand,
would you actually grow them?
Or stick them away, convinced they're "inferior" because of your personal experience or just hearsay?
I completely understand there's no access to original genetics. Not too many preserved a good quality seed stock from specific cultivars.
Seems most chose the cloning and fem process,
losing those traits that we see lost today,
but some know and do remember what used to be.
What does a person do? Go buy shit called Jane Doe Skunk, not expecting it to be anything,
you give it the ole "frustration kick" every time you walk past it? lol
How do you know what and who to get stuff from?
A bunch of internet strangers dealing with other internet strangers.
What a safe and secure method for quality genetics. lol

Let's say, a complete stranger, asks 10 of you "home" cultivators to make room in your already small grow,
and of course, most likely, there will be, some "wasted garden space" in the end.
But it's for a shot at some of those tastes from the past most have only heard talked about?
They're "supposed" to be this or supposed to be that.
And you only got the "man's word" to go by.
Be honest with yourself, would you grow them?
Would you take as good a care if you did grow them?
9 out of 10 would take the seed but never grow them.

I'm looking for another 10th man.
Who's gonna risk "garden real estate" for some dude's word on the internet?
No, I don't think I would either. lol
So, what is one to do?
How do you get access to these private stashes?

There are a lot of people who would be willing to grow them to see if they get the old skunk they remember. I've been seeing people on Reddit trying all kinds of skunk seeds. Hell, some dude recently posted a skunk "box set" he got from a breeder. People are definitely searching for it. HAF's opinion is just his opinion.

ill be popping some more NWS seed soon, I need something different with no Oreoz in it. So many of the hype strains used to make these crosses dominate the taste and smell of the bud and you end up with a lot of basically the same flavor or buzz with only slight differences. NWS seed is from a different time and place. The plants I got from that seed, some Skunky and some not, had smells and flavors that I haven't come across. They also had a good buzz to go with it. TFC is right, there are tons of people who want the old school skunk. The problem is not many want to take the first crack at it. They want someone like J beezy to pheno hunt it for them and post it on Instagram. They want you tube videos and rappers to tell them what to do. I think to get todays new growers interested you have to bring the hype to a whole nother level. Maybe call yourself Lil Zskunky and start rapping, Or give away bobble heads and stuffed animals LOL. The guy that put the skunk box together knows what Im saying, hell I almost want to buy one. Hes gotta be for real if you get an actual skunk in the box!

Not quite. Federal decrriminaliation would change lots of things. The problem with "hey, I got free beans for y'all" is that the people taking you iup on it are likely the newer growers that are like "woo hoo! free seeds" then they grow crispy critter plants with no terps at all or little spider-mite condos.

Except for a few of the random freebies I have gotten that just don't interest me I want to grow everything I have - not that I can.

Then it's a matter of priority. I always have a spot for new stuff, but as I grow and find the things I NEED in my life there's less space to run the things that might be cool - or not.

I have some skunk-type beans still in the fridge and they'll get wet when I get to them.

What I am actually looking for is that pinene that was in the skunk I used to get. It was like a skunk in a cedar forest. I'm thinking it was that pine thing that got us higher than the skunk thing
