Now he's not 1 we see around the Midwest, is that a black tail? Or what u guys call em?
Thanks
Yes it's a Blacktail.
The Longbeach peninsula has a ton of them.
They are in our yards almost daily, I was only 20' from this guy.

They're lucky I don't hunt them anymore.
I could easily shoot one in the back yard.

Here's some of whats left of many I've killed in the past.

sorta looks like my backyard
Nice! My front yard woods is as big as some backyard woods. It's about 400ft to the road, all large trees and underbrush.

I actually caught these two in the same spots about a week ago. I was coming up the driveway in the car and spotted the one. Couldn't see the one behind the log from that angle. Got a quick picture before it got spooked. Once it did, both got up and ran.

i know the feeling mine are all in a spitoon , like they used on trains or in saloones from back in the day. i do know back in the late 60's ,when old man murphy shut down the pool hall, in town he left ten or eleven dudes homeless!

Fiddler's Green

Just a regular vato
That's a hell of pile to get ya going....
What kind of wood is it?
Certain kind you prefer?
Harvest all that from your own property?
Thanks
Mainly Oak with a few sticks of ash or maple mixed in. I've only processed and burned Oak in the wood boiler so I don't have any experience outside of a fallen/broken Birch or Jack Pine.

I wish I could harvest my own wood but that would be a lot of work without a tractor or skidsteer plus it's mainly Birch, Aspen and Pine on our lot.

How many cords of wood lol. Nice pile vato!
13 cords this year. I think I have 3ish cords left over from last year. Could've been 4+ but a bunch was too punky to burn so I made a giant bed to build some curb appeal but also increase privacy from the road. We'll fill it with Lilac and flowers we propagate. Tactical area beautification.

Gorgeous looking future bed there Fiddler's Green! You gunna set that thing on fire and char it or just keep adding goodies on top until it breaks down naturally?
